Final Blog Post

Updated: May 8, 2020

I wanted to end things by showing my editing skills using Final Cut Cro. I put together a few clips from my trip to California together and see if I can turn it into a trailer-like video about how peaceful things were before this pandemic.

Kongo Power Figures were the creations of sculptors who contributed the figurative receptacle and ritual specialists responsible for its conservation with customized sacra. i saw these beautiful sculptures a few months ago at the Museum of Modern Art.

So in light of everything that's going on with this virus, I needed to find a way to stay creative. I decided to go my brothers detail shop and shoot a before and after of a Dodge Viper that a customer left. We knew that the shop would have to be closed down in a few days so I tried to get as many shots as possible and fit it in a two minute window. Also, I added an alternate version.

A few months ago I came across a portrait book by photographer Gunner Stahl. In this book he takes behind the scene photographs of different musicians when they're in their creative space. It left me inspired, mainly because a friend of mine is a music producer and I'm a visual artist. Many people find different outlets, whether it's for therapeutic or creative reasons. Some people look for that outlet in music, some people find it in art, I find it in photography. These the photograph and two video montages of what took place.

I came across this portrait book online a few months ago. I thought it was right up the alley with what I want to do with my final project. Although he is not the first but Stahl found a cool way bridge music and photography.

For some reason when I see these three photographs together I instantly think of life. The first picture is the sun rising, symbolizing new life. The second picture is of a run down camper van, I see this van and think about the toll that life takes on us. Last but not least, the third picture is off the sun setting. We all just get caught up in life and not enjoy the joys that life brings. At the end of the day, the sun will set on all of us so make sure you enjoy it while you still can.

Title : Sun Rise, Ride til the wheels Fall, Sun Set

A few of my friends have their own clothing brand that they promote and sale on social media. i asked a few of my friends if we can set up a small photo shoot and see how they come out. they were happy to help and these are the shots

A customer brought his Mercedes S63 to my brothers detail shop. I was very excited to shoot this beauty.

A Pop-up event that I was invited to and decided to being my camera. These shots are more off guard. I like catching people when they least expect it. Sometimes the staged look is too obvious and takes away from the picture.

A friend of mine designed a few trucker hats. I thought they looked really awesome so we decided to shoot. These are some of the shots. (Sic Parvis Magna Trucker Hats)

Henny-Thing is possible ; I was invited to this fundraiser earlier this year. I decided to bring my camera to see if I could capture some good shots and thats exactly what i did. Had a great time, and also decided to get into photography more instead of drawing.

I started off this semester thinking I was was going to get into comic books and drawing more. I wanted to incorporate hip hop into the storyline so and still make it relatable to a large crowd. a few weeks later Professor Hagan told me about a famous hip hop comic book called "Hip Hop Family Tree' by Ed Piskor, which was very similar to what I wanted to do.
